Jay-Z allegations: Rap mogul and entrepreneur Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, alongside defamed music star Sean “Diddy” Combs, an amended complaint obtained by NewsNation alleges. The victim, identified as “Jane Doe,” alleges that the pair of stars assaulted her at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. Court documents also accuse Jay-Z of being present during “many such instances” and said “both perpetrators must face justice.” What to know >

Jay-Z statement: Jay-Z released a lengthy statement in response to the complaint. In it, the record executive claims the lawyer behind the 13-year-old accuser’s lawsuit attempted to blackmail him. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” Jay-Z’s statement reads in part. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are.” The star said his only heartbreak is for his family and that his heart goes out to the “true victims in this world.” Details >

Diddy case: Combs, 54, has pleaded not guilty to federal sex trafficking charges following his Sept. 16 arrest. Charges include allegations he coerced and abused people for years, aided by associates and employees, and silenced victims through blackmail and violence, including kidnapping, arson and physical beatings. He has remained incarcerated pending trial next year. The latest >

Immigration: In his first national television interview since winning back the White House, President-elect Donald Trump said his top immigration priority is deporting undocumented migrants who have criminal records. While the specific crimes to be targeted remain unclear, he’s promising swift action. When it comes to families with mixed immigration statuses, the President-elect is proposing deporting families together to avoid separation, meaning that children born in the U.S. would leave the country with their undocumented parents. Trump said the plan is “the only way to do it,” and “you have to send them all back.” Takeaways >
