World’s oldest man dies at 112: Guinness World Records

SOUTHPORT, England (WJW) – The world’s oldest man has died at age 112, Guinness World Records reported early Tuesday.

According to the Guinness World Records, John Tinniswood passed away Monday, Nov. 25 at a care home in Southport, England. His family told Guinness, “His last day was surrounded by music and love.”

Guinness World Records named Tinniswood the world’s oldest living man in April 2024, at age 111, after the death of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Pérez from Venezuela.

Tinniswood was born Aug. 26, 1912. The same year the Titanic sank.

According to Guinness, Tinniswood was married for 44 years and had a daughter before his wife passed away in 1986. Throughout his life, Tiniswood served his country, worked in accounts for Shell and BP, retired at age 60, and lived a life of “moderation.”
