LOS ANGELES (NewsNation) — A man found dead after following a fire at a Hollywood Hills home was a member of the wealthy Rothschild banking family, according to multiple reports.

The Los Angeles Times, citing neighbors, said William Rothschild was found dead Wednesday in the Laurel Canyon home.

ABC7 in Los Angeles, citing the Los Angeles Fire Department, reports it took 45 firefighters and 33 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

A real estate listing service cited by The Times described the home as an 825-square-foot, two-bedroom property worth about $1 million.

The prominent banking family originated in Frankfurt, Germany, with a documented history beginning in the 16th century.

The Rothschild family possessed the largest private fortune in the world in the 19th century. While the family’s wealth waned in the 20th century, they still have interests in financial services, real estate, mining, energy and agriculture.

The fire is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police and Fire Department.
