EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One Virginia couple is making a pit stop at Fort Bliss for their tasty quest: to visit every Texas Roadhouse location in America.
Judy McNamara retired in 2017 from the Union Camp/ International Paper mill in southeastern Virginia after working for 45 years.
Her next adventure was traveling with her husband Mike, and that’s when they created their new quest to visit all 600-plus Texas Roadhouses in the U.S.
When the couple arrives at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at the 1613 Pleasanton Rd. location, it will be their 480th restaurant on their journey.
The couple first visited a Texas Roadhouse in 2003 in Tennessee, when Judy McNamara was visiting her brother.
“The food is like home cooking to us,” Judy McNamara said. “We don’t like fancy cuisine or fine dining. Texas Roadhouse fits the bill of good country home cooking and is family-oriented.”
Judy and Mike McNamara’s favorite meals are the sirloin, chicken critters, herb chicken, pulled port, pork chops and ribs, with a side salad.
The couple has already visited a Texas Roadhouse in 49 states, including Alaska. There is no Texas Roadhouse in Hawaii.
