(NewsNation) — Stephen Miller is set to be appointed as the deputy chief of staff for policy under President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration.
CNN was first to report the news, which was soon after hailed as “another fantastic pick” by JD Vance on X.
Miller served in Trump’s first administration as a senior advisor and has continued to work with the president-elect since.
He is known for a hardline stance on immigration and has been central to several Trump policies relating to the border and illegal immigration.
Since Trump left office, Miller has served as the president of America First Legal, an organization of former Trump advisers fashioned as a conservative version of the American Civil Liberties Union, challenging the Biden administration, media companies, universities and others over issues such as freedom of speech and religion and national security.
