(NewsNation) — Podcaster Joe Rogan says he wants to interview Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris after Republican former president Donald Trump appeared on his show, though he rejected requests her team made for conducting one.

“For the record, the Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast,” Rogan wrote on X. “They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen.”

Last week, Reuters reported that Harris was considering talking to Rogan as she tried to garner support with male voters and his audience leans heavily toward young men. “The Joe Rogan Experience” has millions of followers on Spotify, and the Trump interview had 174,000 likes on X as of Tuesday morning.

However, the news outlet said at the time that while Harris campaign officials met with Rogan’s team, an interview had not been confirmed yet.

On MSNBC Thursday, Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams said the vice president going on Rogan’s podcast “isn’t going to work out right now because of the scheduling of this… period of the campaign.”

NewsNation has reached out to Harris’ campaign for comment.

In his three-hour interview with Rogan, Trump repeated lies about voting, election fraud and his loss in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump’s running mate, GOP Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is set to sit down for an interview with Rogan on Wednesday in Austin, Texas, the vice presidential nominee’s spokesperson told NewsNation.
