Missing mom Suzanne Simpson told banker ‘look for her in a lake’: Affidavit

  • Suzanne Simpson's husband arrested, suspected of murder
  • Brad Simpson currently held on $5 million bond
  • Neighbor says he heard screams through his window

(NewsNation) — An unsealed affidavit reveals new details about the hours leading up to the disappearance of Texas mother Suzanne Simpson, and her husband’s movements the day after.

In the weeks before her Oct. 6 disappearance, Suzanne Simpson told her personal banker “that if she went missing to look for her in a lake,” according to the affidavit.

Brad Simpson can also be seen on camera driving to a dump with trash bags, a bulky item under a tarp and other supplies the day after his wife was last seen, the affidavit reveals.

“The timeline that they have built is what’s important here,” retired homicide detective Fil Waters said during a Wednesday appearance on “Banfield.” “I read the affidavit, it’s an amazing treasure trove of evidence, and it all points to him (Brad Simpson) and nobody else.”

Brad Simpson, 53, was charged last week in Bexar County with the murder of Suzanne Simpson, 51.

Brad Simpson is jailed on a total of $5 million in bonds on charges of murder, unlawful restraint, assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The search for Suzanne Simpson continues. Authorities say the areas they’re looking have included a wooded area around the couple’s home, a landfill and an area near where Brad Simpson was arrested along Interstate 10.

The murder charge comes just more than a month after Suzanne Simpson, a real estate agent, was last seen alive outside the couple’s home in Olmos Park, where police have said a neighbor reported seeing the couple fighting. The neighbor said he saw a “physical altercation” and that screams could be heard before Brad Simpson drove off in his pickup truck.

“We hope that (charges) will allow (Simpson’s family) to enter the next phase of the grieving process,” Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas said during a news conference. “We want them to know that the search for Suzanne is still ongoing.”
