BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A search is on for a convicted killer that escaped custody from a Delano courthouse Monday morning, according to Delano police.
The inmate, Cesar Moises Hernandez, reportedly jumped a fence and escaped from custody at a Delano courthouse around 10:40 a.m., according to Christopher Nino with the Delano Police Department.
Officials said Hernandez was serving a sentence for murder. He was last seen wearing an orange CDCR jumpsuit and white thermals.
Delano police and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officers are searching for Hernandez.
The community is asked to remain alert and report any suspicious activity or sightings immediately. Hernandez is considered dangerous.

Schools in Delano are on modified lockdown, a police official said.
