Pennsylvania man accused of stalking woman for 14-years

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A State College man has been charged with stalking and harassment following a 14-year pattern of persistent, unwanted interactions with a woman, according to a criminal complaint.

Mathew Bryce Parkinson, 51, allegedly harassed the woman at her workplace, a shop in State College, beginning around 2015.

The complaint, filed by the State College Police Department, details Parkinson’s repeated unannounced visits to the shop, where he allegedly loitered around the woman’s car, attempted to open her vehicle doors, and made uninvited contact with her and her husband. Police reported that, despite the woman’s attempts to deter Parkinson, he continued to email, call, and approach her at both work and home.

According to the affidavit, the woman described the encounters as “creepy” and claimed she felt “captive” at work due to Parkinson’s repeated presence. In one instance, Parkinson reportedly left snacks on her vehicle and continued to invite the woman and her husband on “couple trips,” even after she explicitly asked him to stop. Despite her objections, Parkinson allegedly continued to visit the shop up to four times in three shifts.

The criminal complaint further claims that Parkinson’s behavior escalated in 2022, with more frequent encounters and persistent emails, many referencing her work routines or places he could see her from his office window, this left her feeling “physically sick.” The woman reportedly changed her schedule multiple times to avoid him, but she alleged Parkinson adjusted his timing to maintain contact.

Parkinson’s alleged harassment extended to her family, according to the affidavit, with one of her children reportedly being approached by Parkinson at a church camp event in 2024.

Parkinson is charged with misdemeanor counts of stalking and three counts of harassment. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 11.
